The objective of this research was to investigate the definition and conditions of identity formation among juvenile offenders in the Juvenile Vocational Training Center after obtaining resocialization. Researchers utilized qualitative case study and purposive sampling technique. participants were 4 professions and 6 juvenile offenders in the Juvenile Vocational Training Center. Data were collected through semi-structural in-depth interviews, and consequently analyzed via content analysis. The definition of identity formation of juvenile offenders can be divided into 2 characteristics: the creation of a new image of oneself and the purposeful change of identity. In addition, the conditions of juvenile offenders were divided into 2 domains: 1) the internal factors - which include a) lessons learned from the past that juveniles will reminisce about and b) the intrinsic motivation from friends – and 2) the external factors - which include a) moral support from family and b) trust and care from juvenile professions. Research findings can be applied to family and other related institutions to enhance identity formation and prepare juvenile offenders for their reintegration into society.</p>2024-07-31T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 The Periodical of Behavioral Sciencehttps://so06.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/BSRI/article/view/266484A Study to Understand the Adaptation and Conditions among Unintended Pregnancy Adolescents2023-07-20T20:14:34+07:00Suwanna Maneewongsuwanna.tukky@g.swu.ac.thThasuk Junprasertthasuk@g.swu.ac.thNarisara Peungposopnarisarap@g.swu.ac.th<p>This study the objectives was as follow to understand the adaptation and the condition of adolescents with unintended pregnancies to adapt to crisis situations. The qualitative research consists of collecting in-depth data through interviews from a primary data source, five adolescents who have unplanned pregnancies. The findings revealed the understanding of adaptation: (1) physiological mode, which includes appropriate food intake, sufficient rest and sleep, proper physical management, observation of complications and adherence to prenatal appointments; (2) self-concept mode, which involves self-esteem, self-confidence, and optimism; (3) role function mode, which includes a specific focus on commitment towards the child, responsibility and seeking information on being a new mother; and (4) interdependence mode, including helping each other. As for the understanding of the conditions faced by adolescents with unintended pregnancies enabled them to adapt to crisis situations, involves accepting reality, facing challenges, and receiving encouragement.</p>2024-07-31T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 The Periodical of Behavioral Sciencehttps://so06.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/BSRI/article/view/270889The Impact of the 101s Positive Discipline Techniques for Parents on 101s Parenting Practices, Executive Function and Social – Emotional Skills in Preschoolers2024-04-10T08:52:06+07:00Wanpen Ritthitaployja_wanpen@hotmail.comPanadda Thanasetkorn101panadda@gmail.comPatcharin Sereepatcharin.ser@mahidol.edu<p>Previous research in Thailand in the impact of the 101s Positive Discipline (The 101s) program has showed positive impacts on parenting practices and children’s executive function (EF) skills. While parents needed the most to enhance their parenting skills during the quarantine period of the Covid epidemic, they could not attend on-site training program. Therefore, the 101s program for training parents both on-site and online was developed. This study aimed to examine the impact of the 101s on-site and online program on 101s parenting practice, EF skills and social - emotional skills in preschoolers. The quasi-experimental research with one group pretest and posttest was designed. The sample was 19 parents and 19 preschoolers at National Institute of Child Health. The parent sample attended one on - site session of the 101s program, 4 E-Learning sessions and 7 online group discussions. The instruments included the 101s Parent Interaction Checklist, the 101s Social- Emotional Skills Checklist and MU.EF-101. The data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics including Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Signed Rank Test and Dependent Sample t-test. The results showed that when comparing to the pretest, parents significant had higher posttest - mean scores on 101s parenting practices and the preschoolers significantly had higher posttest - mean scores on EF and social– emotional skills (p < 0.05). The findings suggested that educators and organizations working with children and family could use the 101s online - training program as an alternative for promoting positive parenting skills in parents during quarantine period and in countryside.</p>2024-07-31T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 The Periodical of Behavioral Sciencehttps://so06.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/BSRI/article/view/272181A Causal Relationship of the Stress Situation and Cognitive Apprisal on Adaptive Behavior through Coping Strategies and Meaning in Life among Cadets of Royal Thai Air Force2024-03-27T09:28:22+07:00Jeerapa Sukpatjeerapa.phu@g.swu.ac.thKanchana PattrawiwatKanchana.Pattrawiwat@gmail.comPolthep Poonpolp.poonpol@gmail.com<p>The purpose of this research was to study a causal relationship of the stress situation and cognitive appraisal on adaptive behavior through coping strategies and meaning in life among cadets of Royal Thai Air Force. The sample consisted of freshman – second year 120 cadets. The content validity of the questionnaire was acceptable. The reliability with Cronbach alpha coefficients was between .89 - .94. The results of the analysis found that the causal relationship model did not fit with the empirical data (χ2 = 36.58, df = 3, χ2/df = 12.19, p = 0.0000, RMSEA = 0.309). Therefore, adjusted structural relationship by adding paths influence from stress situation and cognitive appraisal affect to meaning in life. The result reveals 1) the adjusted model that fits with the empirical data (χ2=1.18, df = 1, χ2/df =1.18, p = 0.2776, RMSEA = 0.039, GFI = 1.00) 2) the causal relationship model explain coping strategies by 42.1 percentage, meaning in life by 57.0 percentage, and all of variables explain the variance of adaptive behavior by 67.0 percentage. The finding suggested coping strategies and meaning in life are important factor and should be developed in Air Force cadets.</p>2024-07-31T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 The Periodical of Behavioral Sciencehttps://so06.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/BSRI/article/view/272496COVID-19 Literacy, Infodemic Perception and Social Factors related to Stress Coping Behavior in The New Normal for Health Care Workers2024-04-24T09:40:50+07:00Punna Sungsuwanpawipook@gmail.comSaran Pimthongsaranpimthong@gmail.comUngsinun Intarakamhangungsinun@g.swu.ac.thWarakorn Supwirapakornwarakorn13@hotmail.com<p>This aim of this quantitative research was to study the influence of the factors of stress coping behavior in the new normal. However, HRD was based on Western countries' studies, which cannot be fully applied in the Thai context due to the social environment and family-priority values. This ideology made differences in development from their birth. In addition, the contextual differences related to the concepts of human capital (HC) and human development (HD). This article thus provided an interdisciplinary synthesis, including HC and HD, and presented a theory of HRD with a value creation model in the Thai context. The theory begins with opportunities and motivation leading to creating value. The theory begins with opportunities and motivation leading to the creation of value. Additionally, it illustrates the impacts of opportunities from both family and external sources that individuals will seize with motivation. Then, they will develop skills to create values. The basic value is to earn a living. Individuals can also generate higher levels of value to provide opportunities for other family members and society. This will lead to continuously creating value on a large scale in Thai society. Lastly, the theory supports individuals, communities, government, and private agencies in providing opportunities, which is the beginning of HRD for sustainable value creation in the Thai context.</p>2024-07-31T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 The Periodical of Behavioral Science
