STUDY OF FLIPPED CLASSROOM WITH BRAINSTORMING ON LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT, MATHEMATICS SUBJECT: MEASURES OF CENTRAL VALUE FOR GRADE 12 STUDENTS

Abstract

This paper aims: 1) to compare the learning mathematics achievement on measures of central value of experimental group students through the flipped classroom with brainstorming, 2) to compare the learning mathematics achievement on measures of central value of control group students through the flipped classroom with brainstorming, and 3) to compare the learning mathematics achievement on measures of central value between experimental and control groups students. The population used in this research is a total of 231 grade 6 students. The sample group is 38 students in class 6/1 as the experimental group. and 39 students in class 6/2 were the control group that selected by cluster random sampling. The research tools included the flipped classroom with brainstorming instructional plans, traditional plans, and learning achievement test.

The findings indicate that both experimental and control groups showed a statistically significant increase in mean scores. The experimental group after using the flipped classroom with brainstorming had learning achievement statistically significantly higher average scores than before learning.
