DEVELOPMENT OF COMPREHENSIVE ELDERLT CARE SYSTEM AND MECHANISM ‘SALE MODEL’ CHUMPHON PROVINCE

Abstract

     This research and development aim to study the development of comprehensive elderly care system and mechanism ‘SALE Model’ Chumphon Province. Between July- August 2023, sample group consisted of 408 networks, 102 caregivers, and 102 elderly people. Instruments research were questionnaire and elderly care record form, namely a network participation questionnaire, caregiver potential, quality of life of the elderly and passing the criteria of 10 Sub-district standards Long Term Care. Statistics used for analysis were: percentage, mean, standard deviation, paired samples T-Test and induction analysis.

     Results : Development of a comprehensive elderly care system and mechanism ‘SALE Model’ Chumphon Province (S=screening, A=aging health club, L=long term care by DHS, E=end of life care) consists of 5 activities: 1) S=screening, 2) A1=aging health club, 3) A2=aging health club,  4) L=long term care, 5) E=end of life care. After network development There was a perception of health promotion for the elderly than before the operation from 3.59±0.50 to 3.75±0.62. Participation in the development of the elderly care system increased more than before development from 3.54±0.57 to 3.64±0.66 and the quality of life development of the elderly increased more than before development from 3.57±0.58 to 3.69±0.68 significantly statistics (p-value <0.001). After the development, caregivers had a high level of potential overall, 75.5%. The support from the network increased more than before development from 3.48±0.61 to 3.85±0.79 with statistical significance (p-value <0.001). After the development, the elderly had a moderate quality of life in performing their daily activities at a moderate level of 44.1 percent. Assessment results of 10 Long Term Care sub-district standards during the fiscal year 2022-2023 passed the excellent criteria in both 2 years, the pass rate increased from 99.11% to 99.35.
