This study is qualitative research, collecting data from survey, participatory observation, group talk, seminar and content analysis.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Research finding :</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Gilãnupatthãka monks in Buddhist texts had a role in nursing ill monks, which was required by the Buddhist tradition and rule when there was a sick monk. The Gilãnupatthãka monks were required to have knowledge about healthcare and volunteering mind.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Role of the Phrakilanuphatthak monks in Mahasarakham Province during the COVID-19 pandemic are in four aspects, 1) Physical – prevent spreading of the disease, self-care, and promote physical wellness, 2) Social – supervise sterile activities and compliance with disease prevention in places of worship, and reduce risk in hosting Buddhist activities, 3) mental – rehabilitation of mental health and mind training, 4) wisdom – give the correct knowledge, provide advice, dharma teaching and mind training.</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Work guideline for Phrakilanuphatthak monks in Mahasarakham Province during crisis is improvement of Gilãnupatthãka monks’ capabilities, integration with relevant agencies, compliance with the National Sangha Health Charter BE 2560, creation of cooperative network, creation of health insurance for monks, promotion of ethics during crisis, and development of meditation skills for Phrakilanuphatthak monks during crisis.</p> ER -
