Quality of Work Life of Traffic Police Officers in the Metropolitan Police Division 2

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1. to study the level of quality of work life of traffic police officers in the Metropolitan Police Division 2.; and 2. to compare between personal factors and quality of work life of traffic police officers in the Metropolitan Police Division 2. The research instruments are a questionnaire of 5 aspects: in residential aspect, in fair and sufficient compensation, safety working environment, working promotion, and benefit of social work. The researcher used the questionnaires with 196 traffic police officers in the Metropolitan Police Division 2. By finding the frequency and percentage, finding the mean and standard deviation, Analyzed by t-test independent and One-way ANOVA, data analysis using social science software packages.

The results of this study is as below: 1. The level of quality of work life of traffic police officers in the Metropolitan Police Division 2 is in a medium level ( = 2.93, S.D. = 0.72). When considering each aspect, it is found that the aspect of the highest average value of the top 3 was the working for socially beneficial at a medium level ( = 3.45, S.D. = 0.95).  The second one is the career progress at a medium level (=3.18, S.D. =0.91). The last one is the working environment at a medium level (=3.01, S.D. =0.86).

2. The perspective of comparison between personal factor and quality of work life of traffic police officers in the Metropolitan Police Division 2 classified by genders, years of the study and status found that the sample variance was not different. These elements were classified by monthly income and working period found that the sample variance was different and significantly differently at .05 level.
