Using “Di Buemang” Learning Package to Enhance Geographical Concepts for Young Children

The purpose of this research was to study the effects of “Di Buemang” learning package to enhance geographical concepts for young children and the research was quasi experimental. The subject of this research was 13 young children who were studying in kindergarten level 3 ranging in age from 5 to 6 years old. choosing subject by purposive sampling. The research instruments were consisted of geographic activities and guides, geographical concepts test, observation form and satisfaction survey of parents about “Di Buemang” learning package. The quantitative data were analyzed by descriptive statistics frequency, percentage, mean, standard. The results showed that after using “Di Buemang” learning package, young children had higher geographical concepts in every aspect. When considered each concept in descending order as follows; the concept about human environment relationship(m = 9.84, s = 0.37), the concept about things around us (m = 9.23, s = 0.72) and the concept about location of things(m = 8.30, s = 0.75). the level of parent’s satisfaction towards the “Di Buemang” learning package was found in overall was at a high level (m = 4.07,s = 0.88).
