A Measurement Model Development of English Learning Achievement Using Online English Teaching Media for Primary School Students

Abstract

This study aims to explore and investigate a measurement model development of English learning achievement using online English teaching media for primary school students. The objectives of this research are 1) to develop online English teaching media for primary school students, 2) to compare knowledge and comprehension of students before and after using online English teaching media with primary school students and 3) to assess students' satisfaction with online English teaching media for primary school students. The research design of quantitative research method was used for the data collection and analysis. The target groups of this study were 44 students at grade 5 and 6 in Ban Nong Krathum shcool, Ron Thong sub-district, Satuk District, Buriram Province focused on December 2021 – April 2022. The research instruments consisted of online English teaching media by prescribe variable of English learning achievement is independent and skills of English learning consisted of listening and writing is dependent, evaluation from regarding the quality of media and contents, pretest, posttest, and evaluation from regarding student’s satisfaction towards online English teaching media. The statistics used to data analyzed were mean, standard deviation, and T-test for dependent target group. The study found that the overall media quality was good level with an average score of 4.45 and the contents quality was good level with an average score of 4.42. The result of comparison of knowledge and comparison between pretest and posttest found that the students were higher after learning through online English teaching media at the statistically significant level of 0.05 with grade 5 students a mean score of 73.52/50.93 and grade 6 students a mean score of 77.56/56.41. And the students satisfy at the online English teaching media. Learning from online English teaching media, students are focused and enthusiastic about their studies and able to follow the lessons correctly according to the rales confidence in online learning and to develop according to their own potential.
