Development of English Teaching Media for Communication of Monks and Novices in General Education Division of Phrapariyattidhamma Schools Watburaphaphiram

Abstract

The research study had objectives 1) to study the problems of English teaching and learning for the monks and the novices and the needs, suggestions of the teachers of model and the content of English teaching media 2) to develop and to find an efficiency of English teaching media for the monks and the novices on the English teachers’ needs 3) to compare the competency of using English teaching media for the monks and the novices before and after and 4) to study the satisfaction of English teachers and the monks and novices on English communicational teaching and learning medias. This study was the quasi-experimental research. The target groups of this study were 35 people consisting of the teachers and monks and novices in Phrapariyattidhamma Schools Watburaphaphiram. The instrument of the study was English communicational teaching and learning medias and pre-test and post-test and the data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean,  standard deviation and t-test. The result study was found that 1) the students were shy, not to speak, not to pronounce, to be afraid of pronounce wrong. The teachers lacked of strategy of teaching fun and the students fell boring and no modern English communicational teaching and learning medias. 2) the  percentage scores between learning was 80.10 and the percentage scores after learning was 83.67, so English teaching and learning media was efficiency (80.10/83.67) at high level. 3) the result of pre-test and post-test of the monks and novices of training was significant difference at the 0.05 level. 4) the satisfaction on English communicational teaching and learning medias for students was average at 4.13 and for teachers at 4.18 which was at high level.
