The Development of English Communicative ability through Project-Based Learning for Mattayomsuksa 2 Students of Chalermkwansatree School: Applying Authentic Assessment

The purposes of this study were: 1) to study the effects of project-based learning on English communicative competence improvement of Mattayomsuksa 2 students: Applying authentic assessment. 2) to compare the project-based learning achievement on English communicative competence improvement of Mattayomsuksa 2 students: Applying authentic assessment. The research instruments used consisted of 1) the lesson plan on “Our recommended places” lesson 2) the achievement test of students’ English communication on “Our recommended places” 3) Form for assessing English communication proficiency 4) Form for self-evaluation and participation in group activities. The data were analyzed by comparing the English communication competence of the students using Dependent Samples t-test. The result reveled that: 1. The result of teaching and learning through project-based learning to improve English communicative ability of Mattayomsuksa 2 students: Applying authentic assessment, students’ English communication was at good level that teaching and learning through project-based learning to improve English communicative ability of Mattayomsuksa 2 students: Applying authentic assessment has the potential to improve students' English communication skills.
