Job Characteristics and Work Experience Factors Affecting Organizational Commitment of a Company’s Employees in Thailand

The objectives of this research were: 1. to study job characteristics, work experience factors, and the organizational commitment of a company’s employees; and 2. to study job characteristics and work experience factors affecting the organizational commitment of a company’s employees. This research is a quantitative study. Data was collected by an online questionnaire, which was obtained from 352 of a company’s employees. The statistics used in the data analysis were percentage, mean, and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that 1) job characteristics factor ( = 4.36), work experience factor ( = 4.30), and organizational commitment ( = 4.29) were at the highest level overall. 2) The five job characteristics factors affect the organizational commitment of a company’s employees. with a statistically significant level of 0.05. The most affecting is the expectation of advancement opportunities, followed by the freedom to work, a variety of job skills, the uniqueness of the work, and the importance of the work, respectively. As for the factors of work experience in all 4 areas, they affect the organizational commitment of a company’s employees, with a statistical significance level of 0.05. The most affecting to organizational commitment of a company’s employees is the dependability of the organization, followed by the expectations to be met by the organization, the importance of the organization, and attitudes of colleagues and organizations, respectively.
