The Effects of Stem Education Approach on Science Achievement and Problem Solving Ability of Grade 11 Students

The purposes of this experimental research were 1. to compere students’ learning achievement before and after learning management by STEM education. 2. to compere students’ ability on problem solving before and after learning management by STEM education. 3. to study the students’ satisfaction towards learning management by STEM education. The multi-stage sampling of the study were twenty-nine grade 11 students at the secondary Educational Service Area 9, Nakhon Pathom who studying in the first semester of 2020 academic year. The instruments of the research were 1) lesson plans. 2) the reliability of learning achievement test on Science was 0.92. 3) the reliability of learning achievement test on problem solving ability was 0.94. 4) the reliability of students’ satisfaction towards learning management by STEM education was 0.87. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, the pretest and posttest scores using one sample t-test. The results of this study indicated that 1) The posttest mean scores of learning achievement of eleventh grade students after learning with the STEM education were statistically significant higher than the pretest mean scores at the 0.05 level. 2) The posttest mean scores on problem solving ability of eleventh grade students after learning with the STEM education were statistically significant higher than the pretest mean scores at the 0.05 level.3) The eleventh grade students instructional satisfaction towards STEM education approach was high in all respects
