Participatory Guidelines of Sub-district Health Promoting Hospitals in the Implementation of Student Support System of Schools under Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area Office 2

Abstract

The research aimed 1) to create a participation guideline of sub-district health promoting hospitals in the operations of student assistance system of educational institutions, 2) to evaluate appropriateness and feasibility of the presentation of a participation guideline of sub-district health promoting hospitals in the operations of student assistance system of educational institutions. There are 2 steps for conducting the research. Step 1 – creating a participation guideline of sub-district health promoting hospitals in the operations of student assistance system of educational institutions. Documents are studied and content validity is measured by 6 experts selected by purposive sampling technique. The research instrument is content validity form. Data are analyzed using index of item objective congruence. Step 2 – studying appropriateness and feasibility of a participation guideline of sub-district health promoting hospitals in the operations of student assistance system of educational institutions. The sample consists of educational institution administrators and directors of sub-district health promoting hospitals affiliated to Office of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Education Service Area 2, 189 persons. The sample is selected by simple random sampling. The research instrument is a questionnaire with the reliability of appropriateness equal to 0.80 and the reliability of feasibility equal to 0.79. Statistics for data analysis include mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The findings from the study revealed that 1) the participation guideline of sub-district health promoting hospitals in the operations of student assistance system of educational institutions comprises 5 aspects and a list of 70 practices, namely, 1. Getting to know each individual student. There are16 practices; for example,  the committee on activities knows each individual student 1 time per semester. 2. Screening. There are 17 practices; for example, educational institutions appoint the committee on screening students. The committee should consist of teachers, educational personnel, and staff of sub-district health promoting hospitals. 3. Developing and promoting students. There are 13 practices; for example, educational institutions and staff of sub-district health promoting hospitals work collaboratively to make decision to determine projects/activities promoting and developing student health according to their ages including problems and demands of each type of students. 4. Preventing and solving student problems. There are 13 practices; for example, educational institutions and sub-district health promoting hospitals work collaboratively to determine goals and how to operate projects/activities to prevent and solve student problems. 5. Referral – There are 11 practices; for example, educational institutions and sub-district health promoting hospitals mutually make decision to select hospitals or relevant agencies where students in a risk group or students who have problems will be referred to, 2) all 5 aspects and 70 practices of the participation guideline of sub-district health promoting hospitals in the operations of student assistance system of educational institutions affiliated to Office of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Education Service Area 2 are appropriate and feasible at a high level. The mean is 3.50, higher than the criterion with the statistical significance level of 0.05.
