Competency of Security Guard in the Hotel Business in Bangkok

Abstract

The Study of the Competency of Security Guard in the Hotel Business in Bangkok as quantitative research has objectives to study the competency level and compare the competency of security guard in the hotel business in Bangkok classifies by personal factors and to recommend guidelines of the competency development of security guard. The samples consist of 286 security guards in the hotel business in Bangkok. Research instrument is questionnaire and statistics for research are percentage, mean and standard deviation and compare differences by compare mean. The research result found that the competency level of security guard in the hotel business in Bangkok is high-level overview. When consider all the factors found that the highest average was the performance as at the most, next was skill and knowledge as at high respectively. Hypothesis testing found that security guard in the hotel business in Bangkok with different gender, age and security experience had no different competency. For security guard in the hotel business in Bangkok with different education level and status had different competency. Recommendations for the competency development of security guard in the hotel business; the first is principles of jurisprudence, related rules and regulations; next are introduction to self-defense, suppression, encountering specific events and knowledge of communication and technology equipment respectively.
