Abstract

This research aimed to 1) investigate the current and desirable state of academic administration, and 2) explore the practical approach to academic administration for the education expansion schools under Pathum Thani Primary Education Service Area Office 2. The research sample consisted of 248 teachers from the education expansion schools under Pathum Thani Primary Education Service Area Office 2. The key informants included five school administrators. The instruments were questionnaires and interview forms. To analyze the data, the researcher conducted statistics consisting of frequency, mean, percentage, standard deviation, PNI modified, and content analysis for the qualitative study. The findings revealed that 1) the current and desirable states of academic administration at Pathum Thani Primary Education Service Area Office 2 were moderate and high, respectively. 2) The practical approach to academic administration was comprised of seven areas: (1) School curriculum development: A planning meeting was held to prepare the curriculum of the school in line with the core curriculum. (2) Learning process development based on the curriculum of educational institutions: Teaching and learning management were consistent with the school curriculum; curriculum analysis was basic information about schools. (3) Measurement, evaluation, and transfer of learning outcomes: Measurement and evaluation were established to meet the curriculum and indicators. The assessment conformed to the potential of learners. (4) Research to improve the quality of education: Teachers were encouraged to do research and implement the findings to develop the teaching and learning process. (5) Innovative media and educational technology: sufficient budgets were allocated to meet teachers' requirements in media production, learning innovation, encouraging teachers to create media and technology. (6) Educational supervision: a supervision calendar was set to monitor the teaching and learning process. (7) Internal quality assurance system: The preparation organized the structure within the educational institution to support the assessment of the quality assurance system within the educational institution.
