Ways to Improve the Service for Transit/Transfer Passenger at Suvarnabhumi Airport

Abstract

The purposes of this study are 1) to compare the service for the transit/transfer passenger at Suvarnabhumi Airport with the other two airports that provided the same service. 2) to find the ways to improve the service for transit/transfer passenger of Suvarnabhumi Airport. This study is qualitative research. The purposive samples that are used in this research are the group. Which comprises of 4 keys informant from Airports of Thailand Company limited. They are high ranking executives in the related fields that concern the service for transit/transfer passenger. By using tools of structured in-depth-interview form by in-depth-interviewing and analyzed data by descriptive interpretation. Moreover, the secondary data is retrieved from textbooks, other researches and Thesis from both in Thailand and international level in order to complete the contents of this study.

            From the research, it was found that 1) The SAT-1 Building can relief the congestion inside the main terminal building of Suvarnabhumi Airport and also increase the space overall 2) The deregulation will increase the agility in management 3) By adding the additional facilities will provide more comfort for transit/transfer passenger at Suvarnabhumi Airport. It can be concluded that Suvarnabhumi Airport can provide service at the standard level as well as other 2 airports however, at the other service level, Suvarnabhumi Airport still needs to be improved.
