The Effects of Learning Experienced Provision by Using Literature Based to Enhance Understanding of Sexuality Education for Young Children

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the effect of learning experienced provision by using literature based on the understanding of sexuality education for young children. The target group consisted of a total of 9 early childhood boys and girls aged between 5-6 years old, studying in Kindergarten 3, Semester 2, Academic Year 2022, Wat Thammajariya School, Wang Noi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.  The instruments used in the study 1) literature-based lesson plans, 2) an evaluation form to measure sexuality education understanding in young children. The data were analyzed quantitatively using mean and standard deviation, and qualitatively using content analysis and descriptive statistics.

          It was found that young children exposed to literature-based lessons obtained a higher of 16.11 for understanding of sexuality education compared to before the exposure, standard deviation of 2.86. In other words, young children gained more understanding of sexuality education than before the literature-based learning was introduced. The topics with the highest and lowest mean scores were understanding of relations and understanding of human development, respectively.
