The Rights and Duties of Thai Citizens in Democracy

Abstract

             The rights and duties of the Thai citizens are clearly defined in the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand of B.E. 2560. The rights and duties usually come along. When the Thai citizens have the rights as stipulated in the Thai constitution, they have the duties as the Thai citizens to perform as well. The Thai citizens must have the correct understanding and realizing the importance of the practice for being good citizens in democratic “rights”, They have to know the benefit or the power of the person to whom the law recognizes and protects in case of mandatory compliance or from being abused, including such rights as right, to family, right to privacy, right to honor, right to reputation, right to choice of occupation, rights to travel, right to property. The duties of the Thai citizens were a burden and responsibility for all Thai citizens to perform in accord with the constitution or the law. When the constitution stipulates that any act is a duty of a Thai citizen and if any Thai citizen does not act or refrain from doing so, it is a violation of law and will be punished. It is a burden and responsibility of all Thai citizens to follow.
