Political Participation of Sakaeo Province People in the General Election B.E. 2562

Abstract

Objectives of this dissertation were: 1. To study political participation of Sa Kaeo Province People in the General Election B.E. 2562, 2. To study factors affecting the political participation of Sa Kaeo Province People and 3. To apply Buddhadhamma to Promote People’s Participation in General Election of Sa Kaeo Province. The methodology was the Mixed Methods: The Qualitative Research, Data were collected from 20 Key informants with Structured-In-Depth-Interviewing and Data were analyzed by Descriptive Interpretation. The Quantitative Research, Data were Collected from 400 Samples, Derived from 425,987 People with Questionnaires and Analyzed with Descriptive Statistics; Frequency, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation.

Findings were as follows:

1. General Condition of People’s Participation in General Election was that The number of people casting votes reduced from The last election due to new migrants, The problem of bordering city, Politicians did not reach out to the people due to the political monopoly, political protest and demand, politicians’ administration did not yield the results of the economy and provincial prosperity. these conditions reduced the number of people voting.
2. People’s Participation in B.E. 2562 General Election of Sa Kaeo Province, overall was at a high level (=3.46). Each aspect from the high low was: going to vote was at =3.68, Political Communication was at =3.41 and Political Participation in Political Party was at =3.28 Accordingly. Influences of each factor were that Communication Factor (X4), Social Condition(X1), Economy(X2), Political Culture (X3) had collective influences on the people’s participation in the 1999 General Election of SaKaeo Province (Y) at a Statistically Significant level of 0.001. all 4 factors can collectively explain the variance of people’s participation in the 1999 General Election of Sa Kaeo Province(Y) at 97.0 percent with standard regression coefficient (4, 1, 2, 3) equal to 0.562, 0.379, 0.313, and 0.309 respectively.
3. Buddhadhamma Application for promoting the participation in the General Election of SaKaeo Province was that there were relations between the People’s Political participation and Aparihaniyadhamma for promoting the People’s participation in General Election of Sakaeo Province by overall the political participation and Aparihaniyadhamma had relations at the high level at (r = 0.917**) social condition at high level (r = 0.827**)economy aspect at a high level (r = 0.836**) political culture at a high level (r = 0.851**) mass media aspect at a high level (r = 0.822**)
