TEACHING SOCIAL STUDIES IN THE BORDERLESS WORLD CONTEXT

In the era of globalization, where information technology and communication rapidly and seamlessly connect people and data around the world, the teaching of social studies must adapt its approaches and instructional methods to align with this new context. This is essential to enable learners to develop key social competencies, understand and respect cultural differences, and become aware of their roles and responsibilities as global citizens. This article presents concepts and approaches to social studies instruction that emphasize the integration of active learning processes. Learners are not merely passive recipients of information but actively participate in constructing knowledge through various activities connected to real-life experiences. Digital technology is utilized as a powerful tool to support learning, providing students with opportunities to access information and experiences from across the globe. In addition, the article highlights the importance of fostering global citizenship, aiming to cultivate essential 21st-century skills in learners—such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and effective use of technology. The proposed approaches aim to prepare students to live productively in a globalized society, with a strong sense of responsibility toward their communities and the environment. Ultimately, this equips them to become proactive and constructive global citizens in the future.

INTEGRATING LEARNING ACTIVITIES TO PROMOTE ARTISTIC COMPETENCY IN THE CONTEXT OF LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Promoting artistic competency among lower secondary school students is essential for developing their creative thinking, emotional expression, and cultural appreciation. This study aims to explore integrated learning activity models that enhance students’ artistic competencies within the context of lower secondary education. The focus is on linking artistic knowledge with other academic subjects and real-life experiences to foster analytical thinking, communication, and collaborative learning. The analysis of practical approaches and sample activities reveals that integrated learning can effectively engage students, enhance their artistic skills, and holistically develop their competencies—especially in the areas of creativity and meaningful learning.

This academic article aims to analyze the art of mindful living as taught by Thich Nhat Hanh. The study found that his practice of mindfulness extends beyond seated meditation to encompass all daily activities, such as walking, eating, washing dishes, or even breathing. By integrating Buddhist principles with the lives of ordinary people, he makes mindfulness an accessible and integral part of daily life, not a distant concept.The practice of mindfulness is connected to key Buddhist principles, including mindful breathing. He taught us to be aware of our incoming and outgoing breath, bringing our wandering thoughts back to our bodies. He helps us understand that change is not a "loss," but a continuous movement and circulation of the universe and nature, which proceeds ceaselessly in its own course. Mindfulness is not just about staying with happiness, but about learning to live with suffering. This enables us to manage emotions mindfully and ultimately leads to inner peace. True freedom comes not from clinging to our own thoughts but from opening our hearts and listening to and learning from others. Releasing rigid beliefs allows us to grow and embrace new experiences, which helps us understand the world and life more deeply, in accordance with the Buddha's teachings.

A Role of Psychiatric Nurses in Mental Health Promotion for Elderly

This article aims to summarize and present knowledge on approaches to promote mental health in the elderly for psychiatric nurses that plays a role in promoting mental health in the normal elderly group, the elderly group who are at risk of having mental health problems and psychiatric patients. Currently, there are more elderly people suffering from psychiatric illnesses. The roles of psychiatric nurses include providing mental health education, activities to prevent mental health problems, and implementing measures to protect mental health in order to prevent, promote, and monitor mental health problems that may occur in the elderly.

Developing Strategic Management Guidelines for the Effectiveness of Outcomes-based Education to Enhance Students' Innovative Ability in Guangxi Technological College of Machinery and Electricity, China

The objectives of the research were: (1) to investigate the current challenges and needs in implementing OBE for fostering student innovation at Guangxi Technological College of Machinery and Electricity, and (2) to develop strategic management guidelines to improve the effectiveness of OBE in this context. Survey respondents included 293 students and 177 teachers selected through stratified random sampling from the college. The data was collected via a structured questionnaire and analyzed by using percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Additionally, a focus group of three education experts evaluated the proposed guidelines.

The research finding revealed that: (1) Students reported notable challenges in bridging theory and practice – for example, difficulty in balancing practical and theoretical learning (Mean = 3.56) – and a strong need for updated, industry-relevant course content (Mean= 3.62). They valued innovation highly (Mean = 3.52) but faced moderate obstacles in applying theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. Teachers indicated a moderate level of challenges in OBE implementation (Mean = 2.96), particularly citing the need for clearer OBE integration guidelines, more training, interdisciplinary collaboration, and resources to support innovative teaching. (2) A strategic management guideline was developed comprising four key components: 1) Curriculum Enhancement and Innovative Teaching, 2) Faculty Development and Training, 3) Practical Learning Opportunities, and 4) Industry and Community Partnerships.

Abstract

This research article aimed to examine the effectiveness of the learning management plan on the topic of Historical Methods in the Social Studies, Religion, and Culture learning area using the 5E Inquiry-Based Learning Model for Mathayom Suksa 1 students, based on the 80/80 criterion. It also aimed to compare the learning achievement of Mathayom Suksa 1 students who studied the Historical Methods lesson through the 5E model, between their pre-test and post-test scores.

The sample group consisted of 22 Mathayom Suksa 1 students from Burapha Ubon Municipal School in the academic year 2025, selected by simple random sampling, using the classroom as the unit of randomization. The research instruments included (1) one learning management plan, and (2) a 20-item, four-choice multiple-choice achievement test. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test.

The results revealed that:

The effectiveness of the learning management plan on Historical Methods in the Social Studies, Religion, and Culture subject for Mathayom Suksa 1/1 students was 90.30/80.68. This indicated that the plan met the required effectiveness criterion of 80/80.
The students’ post-test learning achievement scores were significantly higher than their pre-test scores at the .05 level.

Abstract

Research on the development of a learning management plan for Buddhism on the Four Noble Truths for Mathayom Suksa 3 students. The objectives of this research were 1) to determine the effectiveness of the learning management plan on the Four Noble Truths in the Social Studies, Religion, and Culture subject area for Mathayom Suksa 3 students, based on the 80/80 criterion; and 2) to compare the academic achievement of Mathayom Suksa 3 students learning the learning management plan on the Four Noble Truths in the Social Studies, Religion, and Culture subject area, between pre- and post-test scores using the Jigsaw Technique. The sample used in this research was 35 Mathayom Suksa 3/3 students at Pathum Pittayakhom School, academic year 2025, selected using simple cluster sampling random. Two research instruments were used: 1) one learning management plan; and 2) an achievement test. The study consisted of 30 multiple-choice questions with four options. Data were analyzed using percentages, means, standard deviations, and t-tests.

The results revealed:

The effectiveness of the Buddhism lesson plan on the Four Noble Truths for Mathayom 3 students was 80.50/81.90, which met the established criteria of 80/80.
Students' post-test achievement scores were significantly higher than their pre-test scores at the .05 level.

This research is an action research study using the PAOR cycle. The objective is to develop and evaluate a health promotion model for the elderly during the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 in Chaiyaphum Province. Population and sample such as officials from public health agencies, officials from Huai Yae Subdistrict administrative organization, public health volunteers and the elderly. Research tools namely Instruments used in the experiment is Elderly Health Promotion Program under the Situation of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 Outbreak, Tools used to collect data is questionnaire. Statistics used in research Descriptive statistics and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The research results found that consists of 5 aspects: 1) Health promotion according to the 3 A principles 2) Physical health 3) Mental health 4) Social health 5) Environmental health. Which are linked together to create health for the elderly under the COVID-19 pandemic situation. After using the created model, it was found that elderly people had significantly increased health promotion activities during the epidemic situation (p<0.001) as follows: knowledge about prevention of coronavirus disease 2019, recognition of the benefits of health promotion practices, perception of barriers to health promotion practice, self-efficacy in health promotion and health promotion behavior.
