Media literacy skills of the 21st century in Sisaket secondary school students

Abstract

This research aimed to study the media literacy skills of the 21^st century in Sisaket secondary school students. In this study, the skills test (rating scale) were given to the samples (simple random sampling), which were 354 of Satree Siriket School students in 2019 academic year. The quantitative data were analyzed by descriptive statistics in terms of percentage, average, and standard deviation. The findings showed that majority of the samples were female’s student in grade 10. The result in media literacy skills of the 21^st century in Sisaket secondary school students revealed that 5 components at a high level ( = 3.92, S.D. = 0.43). The findings provided of each components that indicated student’s skill including: (1)accessibility skill at a high level              ( = 4.12, S.D. = 0.58); (2) analytical skill at a high level ( = 3.72, S.D. = 0.53); (3) evaluation skill at a high level ( = 4.02, S.D. = 0.62); (4) creativity skill at a high level ( = 3.90, S.D. = 0.54); and (5) Participation skill at a high level ( = 3.84, S.D. = 0.46).
