Abstract

Khao Chamao-Khao Wong National Park is a part of the eastern forest complex of Thailand. The Park is an important recreational place with many endemic species of flora and fauna. Moreover, it is an important watershed of the eastern region. However, economic value of Khao Chamao-Khao Wong National Park has never been quantified in monetary term.  This will make budget allocation decision less efficient. This research aims to value economic non- use value of Khao Chamao-Khao Wong National Park by employing the contingent valuation method. The result found that annual economic value of Khao Chamao-Khao Wong National Park alone is higher than annual budgets of all national parks in the eastern forest complex combined.
