About the Journal

  • Asian Journal of Traditional and Innovative Arts and Textiles(TIAT)
  • Asian Journal of Traditional and Innovative Arts and Textiles is a journal of social sciences. The purpose of this journal is

               1. To strengthen the academic and research works among educators, scholars, and researchers from the fields of traditional and innovative arts and textiles.
               2. To provide an academic platform for students, faculty staff both inside and outside of the university to share their new insights and discoveries about theoretical and experimental implications.
               3. To promote the publication of academic works for serving society that can help solve problems of the community and society of faculty staff both inside and outside the university.

  • Scope of the Journal. The journal welcomes manuscripts for publication in the scope covering the following disciplines:

               1. Silkworms, Local Textiles, Contemporary Textiles, and Textiles Innovations
               2. History of Arts, Fashions Design, Clothing Design, and Accessories Design
               3. History, Archaeology, Ethnology, Philosophy, Religion
               4. Creative Economy
               5. Cultural Wisdom Heritage, and Cultural Products
               6. Local Arts,  Contemporary Arts and Art Education
               7. Media, and Local Media for Development
               8. Local Development, Area-Based Studies, Community Studies, Local Studies, Regional Studies, Southeast Asia Studies, and Asian Studies

  • Publication Frequency 

    •  Issue 1: January-April (5-10 articles per issue.)
    •  Issue 2: May-August (5-10 articles per issue.)
    •  Issue 3: September-December (5-10 articles per issue.)
  • Types of articles  

    • Academic Article: It must be reviewed by qualified peer reviewers and a fee must be paid.
    • Research Articles:  It must be reviewed by qualified peer reviewers and a fee must be paid.
    • socially-engage scholarship Articles: It must be reviewed by qualified peer reviewers and a fee must be paid.
    • Review  Articles: It must be reviewed by qualified peer reviewers and a fee must be paid.
    • Book Reviews: Reviewed and approved by the Editor-in-Chief without charge.
    • Invited Articles: Reviewed and approved by the Editor-in-Chief without charge.

  • Languages for Manuscript 

              Asian Journal of Traditional and Innovative Arts and Textiles (TIAT) welcomes the submissions of manuscripts in the following categories:

    • The journal accepts manuscripts in both Thai and English.
    • For articles in Thai, the following must be included: title, author(s), affiliation, abstract, and keywords in both Thai and English.
    • Articles submitted in Thai, after being evaluated by the reviewers, may be translated into English for publication. However, the reviewers may request further consideration or assign the task to an editor. The translated article must be reviewed by a language expert.
    • The article must not exceed 17 pages. If an article exceeds this limit, the editor will review it on a case-by-case basis. Authors may state their reasons in a "Letter to the Editor" during the submission process, or they may be contacted by the editor to explain their reasons.

  • Processes of Manuscript Review
    • Each academic article  research article and socially-engage scholarship Articles  will have been reviewed by 3 experts (Peer-reviewers) from inside and outside Kalasin University who have expertise in the related field to the article.  

    • All submitted manuscripts will be reviewed via double-blinded peer review.
    • The duration of the review is approximately 1-2 months.

    • The publication fee is subject to the announcement of Kalasin University on the fees for academic journals of Kalasin University, B.E. 2564, and it is not refundable in any case. The author must pay the publication fee before the manuscript submission                                         

  • Journal fees: The fee for submitting articles is in accordance with the Kalasin
    University announcement regarding fees for Kalasin University
    academic journals 2024.
    • Persons within Kalasin University, fee 2,000 baht
    • Outside Kalasin University, the fee is 3,000 baht.
    • The author will only pay the fee after the editor has accepted your article for processing and notified you.
    • The journal will not refund fees to authors under any circumstances.

    • Articles published under the copyright of Asian Journal of Traditional and Innovative Arts and Textiles, Kalasin University. Any comments appearing in the journal are the author's particular literature which Kalasin University and the editors do not have to agree with. Any re-publishing of articles in a journal must obtain written permission from Kalasin University.

  • Journal History

    • In 2022, the TIAT journal was initiated and funded by Professor Emeritus Dr. Suthiporn Jittmitraphap, Royal Academician and former Chairman of Kalasin University Council. Assistant Professor Dr. Kittithanat Yanapisit served as the editor. ISSN 2821-921X (Online).

    • In 2025, the journal received quality certification from the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre in Tier 2 (2025-2029), with Assistant Professor Dr. Kittithanat Yanapisit as the editor.
