Abstract
The objectives of the study entitled were 1) the implementation of waste The objectives of the study entitled were 1) the implementation of waste management by the community, 2) the problems and obstacles of community waste management, 3) Guidelines and suggestions for community waste management. 4) There are four group sample were selected for this study. It consisted of management group, group of executives, relevant government agencies and the group who involve in all sectors. This study was a qualitative study using in-depth interviews and group discussions. All collected data were analyzed by descriptive and content analysis methods for conclusions and suggestions.
The results can be conclude das follows:
1. The implementation of waste management by the community showed that there was no community trash, community participated in waste management such as waste separation, carry waste bag on time at routes as required and the municipality collects rubbish 2 days a week for disposal at the waste electrical power plant.
2. The problems and obstacles of community waste management were the lack of discipline in waste disposal and do not separate waste before disposing.
3. Guidelines and suggestions for community waste management were giving knowledge about waste management to people in community, promoting the separation of waste, bring waste to take advantage as much as possible, monitoring and evaluation of the results and promote continuously.
4. The guidelines for community solid waste management have been summarized as follows: 1) People have to be developed in term of knowledge and understanding about waste management. 2) create participation, understanding and awareness of the problem for people about waste in community. Encourage the segregation of waste as much as possible and continuously. Waste can be used to the most advantage. 3) Establish a comprehensive waste management learning center for the other communities to study.
