Abstract

Leadership Traits of the Woman Educational Administrators of Basic Education in ASEAN Countries was integrative research. The objectives of study were 1) to study the leadership traits of the woman administrators of basic education in ASEAN countries, and 2) to study the effective leadership traits of the woman administrators of basic education in ASEAN countries. The samplings of this study were woman administrators in basic education of 7 ASEAN countries who recommended by scholars or the authorities. They were from Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Laos PDR, Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore. The instruments for data collecting were semi – structured interview questions for woman as educational administrators and vice principals, the observation of woman administrators and content analysis. A focus group discussion was organized for confirming the results.Leadership Traits of the Woman Educational Administrators of Basic Education in ASEAN Countries was integrative research. The research results revealed that: 
1. The aspects of leadership traits of the recognized woman administrators of basic education in ASEAN countries composed of three aspects namely: 1) General Personality traits; covered warm, assertiveness, honesty, trustworthiness, confidence, modesty, politeness, resilience and positive attitude. 2) Task-related traits; covered dare, intelligence, knowledgeable, openness, determination, responsibility, listening and understanding, patience, work hard, meticulously, discipline, firmness and supportiveness. 3) Sociability traits; covered care, empathy, respecting, accessibility, friendliness, kindness, effective communication and accommodative communication.
2. There were three aspects of the effective leadership traits of the recognized woman administrators of basic education in ASEAN countries. 1) General Personality trait; covered warm, calm and cool, assertiveness, confidence, trustworthiness, honesty, compromise, resilience, optimism, modesty and politeness. 2) Task-related trait; covered dare, intelligence, knowledgeable, openness, determination, patience, work hard, strength, awareness, firmness, responsibility, meticulously, accept change, discipline, encouragement, supportiveness, listening and understanding and 3) Sociability trait; covered care, empathy, concern, kindness, accessible, friendliness, respecting, accepting and positive attitudes toward multiculturalism, effective communication and accommodative communication.
