Personality Development of the Leaders based on Buddhist Doctrine According to Opinions of People in Khae Ok Sub-district, Bang sai District, Ayutthaya Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study general conditions and problems in personality development of the leaders based on Dhamma doctrine in Buddhism, and to study personality development of the leaders based on Dhamma doctrine in Buddhism in the opinion of people in Tambol Khae Ok in Bang Sai district of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province. 226 samples were used in the study. The data were collected through questionnaires based on conceptual framework and data were analyzed using social science software packages.   
The results of the study showed that:
1. The level of opinion of the people in Tambol Khae Ok in Bang Sai district of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya towards personality development of the leaders based on Dhamma doctrine in Buddhism was high in overall, and in details, the highest level was on physical characteristics followed by social characteristics and emotional characteristics respectively.
2. The people having different genders, ages and occupations had opinions on characteristics of the leader based on Buddhist doctrine indifferently with a significantly statistic figure at 0.05.
3. The suggestions obtained from the study were that; 1. In physical characteristics: the leaders should cooperate with temples, behave themselves in Dhamma and go to temple every Buddhist holiday, 2. In emotional characteristics; the leaders should be patient to problems and obstacles in work, 3. In intellectual characteristics; the leaders should be mindful in solving problems and keep themselves in touch with modern global situations, and 4. In social characteristics; the leaders should be able to adjust themselves to others in situations, be friendly and sincere.
