Buddhist Monks with the Community Development; A Case Study, Phrakru Meytheethummanun (Meythanun Sumeytho) Wat Pa Nongchad, Don Ngoen Sub-district, Chiang Yuen District, Maha Sarakham Province

Abstract
The objectives of this research were: 1) to study monk’s development level with the community development, 2) to compare the difference between monk and community development classified by their gender, age and village, and 3) to study the suggestion to monk with community development in Don Ngoen, Chiang Yuen district, Maha Sakham province. There were 330 representative samples by Taro Yamane formula. The research tool was a questionnaire which was rating five-scale with reliability at 0.953. The statistics used in the research were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and one way analysis of variance (one way ANOVA). There was a statistically significant at .05 level and comparison of mean difference by pairs employing Scheffe' method.
The results were found:
1. Monk’s development level with the community development was totally high. When each aspect being taken into consideration, it was found that aspect of mind was highest mean ( = 4.26) followed by the environment ( = 4.25) and cultural ( = 4.22) for social was the lowest mean ( = 4.13).
2. With regard to the comparison of monk with community development Classified by gender, age and village. There were the statistically significant not difference at .05.
3. The people suggested to monk with community development in Don Ngoen, Chiang Yuen district, Maha Sarakham province were as follows: There should promote the teaching of Buddhism in schools, the relater departments should a budget for the monks to participate in various areas of community development and the people do not understand the involvement of monk in cultural development or restoration such as antiques, artifacts, etc.
