Community Strengtheningin Conserving Natural Resourcesthrough Civil Society Processes in Chokchai Sub-district, Doi Luang District, Chiang Rai Province

Abstract

This study aims to study of approaches to using civil society concepts to conserve natural resources in the area. According to the study of documents and relevant research on the area of ​​Chok Chai Sub district, especially on the issue of conservation of resources, it was found that stakeholders in the form of government agencies, non-profit organizations, volunteer groups, education agencies, and the private sectors have yet to play a role in contributing to natural resource conservation activities in the area.The community that owns the area operates according to the tradition. This article, therefore, proposes a model for integrating the concept of the civil society process with the community's existing conservation methods through cooperation from external agencies in order to cause effectiveness, continuity, sustainability, and strengthening the community in conserving natural resources.
