An Analysis of Metaphysical Perspective in Yoga Philosophy

Abstract

 The aims of this research were 1) to study the concepts of Indian metaphysics, 2) to study the history of the philosophical principles of Yoga and 3) to analyze the metaphysical perspective in Yoga philosophy. This study employed the documentary research methodology. The data obtained from the documents were analyzed by the descriptive method according to the inductive principles.  The aims of this research were 1) to study the concepts of Indian metaphysics, 2) to study the history of the philosophical principles of Yoga and 3) to analyze the metaphysical perspective in Yoga philosophy. The research results revealed that: 
1. There are two main systems of Indian metaphysics: opposition of perfection and Vedic scripture sanctity; acceptance of perfection and Vedic scripture sanctity. In each group, there are sub-groups holding different concepts. 
2. In Yoga philosophy, it is believed that there are three essences: Prakṛti, Purusha and God. 
3. Analyzing the metaphysics of Yoga, it is evident that the matter evolution of Yoga philosophy is derived from three things: the substance of matter, or element, which is the origin of things in the object, the spiritual root of all things and God.Keywords: Metaphysics; Yoga Philosophy
