Abstract

This article is to study Dhamma to protect the world. Human beings are social beings living together in a small and big communities. The bigger a community gets the more, all beings want the four basic elements for consummation. Thus, there arise many problems concerning the living and working place. The stronger one gets many things or takes things from the weaker people. Sometimes there is a problem involving theft that the leader must resolve to restore public happiness. Buddhist Dhamma helps people to resolve such a problem. Here, the writer thinks that “Lokapaladhamma” or “Dhamma to protect the world” is a proper principle to resolve this problem. Lokapaladhamma consists of (1) Hiri (ashamedness of doing unwholesome deeds without doing them both in visible and invisible places and (2) Ottappa (fear for all types of unwholesome deeds without doing them both in visible and invisible places. This principle is also called “Devadhamma” because it is a principle to make heaven of beings alive. When all persons understand and follow this Dhamma, the community will be full of peace and happiness forever.
