Abstract

This action research the objective is to organize mental health care activities for the elderly to have good mental health. Able to live in a changing society appropriately in addition, for the elderly and families to have a sufficient quality of life among the elderly with chronic diseases in Nongkungsri district, Kalasin Province. The subjects consisted of 2796 elderly chronic illnesses including their relatives or caregivers, 12 professional nurses, 1 physician and 1 pharmacist. The research duration was from October 2017 to May 2018.  The research process was divided into 5 phases. Phase 1 was a holistic review of the situation and the problems of illness in the group. The target of last year by the research team, Phase 2, find seniors with mental health problems using 2Q, 9Q and 8Q tools as per the guidelines. As well as using the knowledge of 5 dimensions of happiness and happiness of the Buddhist way of life, in providing services in the clinic for the elderly and in the community. Phase 3 provides care and promotion of mental health in groups with mental health problems, especially those with depression: by listening and ventilating suffering thinking about ways to solve problems, provide additional information on both the advantages and disadvantages of choosing a solution, giving the patient the opportunity to express their needs and choose to receive a solution on their own providing encouragement and empowerment for patients / families. Phase 4: Coordinate agencies Network associates related organizations passing on information and participating in home visits and encouraging, as well as supporting the proper use of community resources. Phase 5 Monitoring and assess the satisfaction both in the service place and at home.

The study indicated that Elderly chronic disease Along with relatives or carers highly satisfied with 93.99 percent of the mental health care activities. Depressed patients have access to 434 services, representing 33 percent. And in the year 2018, no incidence has been found Suicide succeeded. Moreover, the patients are impressed and have word of mouth spread. The working group has a high level of 100 percent satisfaction due to the elderly mental health care model, can be done easily Important high efficiency Happy both the elderly Relatives or carers And the working team. Therefore, mental health care in the elderly Nongkungsri District, Kalasin Province. It should be a suitable model to be applied in mental health promotion in the elderly with chronic illness, both in Nongkungsri district and other areas with similar or similar contexts
