The aim of this research and development project was to 1) develop a working model for Surveillance and care for depression for high school students, Phrai Bueng District, Sisaket Province in 2022, and 2) compare
the results before and after the implementation of the developed model, which was conducted in Phrai Bueng District from June 1, 2022, to September 30, 2022. The samples consisted of: 1) All high school students who are studying in the school system under all affiliations in Phrai Bueng District totaling 644 people, Parents of 644 students, and 36 homeroom teachers. Descriptive statistics, (frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation), and a t-test at alpha 0.05 were used for data analysis. The results revealed that after the implementation of the new working model, the results of evaluation of depression and suicidal ideation in the sample population .were significantly decrease (p < 0.05).
The results of evaluation of strengths and difficulties assessment (SDQ) by students, students’ parents and homeroom teachers were significantly higher (p < 0.05). And satisfaction assessment results of students, students’ parents and homeroom teachers were significantly higher (p < 0.05).These findings indicated that the newly developed working model is superior to the original model. This is due to the effective methods
and techniques deployed in the model development process, which included four steps: analysis of the original model, initial model development, new model implementation, and conclusion of the implementation results of the newly developed model. These activities result in clear working systems, a practical model, and well-prepared workers before they begin working, and an effective model implementation method with the participation of relevant individuals from the outset. . It is suggested that continuous development and consideration of all related factors be pursued and the model should be applied and extended for continuous and sustainable development.
