Abstract

     This research was action research aimed to study the situation of thalassemia patients in children. and to study the process of enhancing understanding for parents in caring for thalassemia patients who receive services at the Pediatric Out-Patient Department (OPD), children, Nakhon Pathom Center Hospital. Sample size were 51 thalassemia patients who were children who received services at the outpatient department (OPD), outpatient department (OPD), children,Nakhon Pathom Center Hospital. There was a study period between October 2021 - September 2022, totaling 12 months. Data were collected from questionnaires and medical records. data analysis by Content analysis, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Dependent t-test.

     The study found that The effect of a process for enhancing understanding for parents in caring for thalassemia patients who are children receiving services at the Pediatric Out-Patient Department (OPD), Nakhon Pathom Center Hospital. After conducting the understanding of parents on the process of enhancing their understanding of caring for thalassemia patients in children Overall and each aspect was at the highest level. and when comparing parents' understanding to the process of enhancing their understanding of caring for thalassemia patients as children Before and after the operation, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference at the level of .05 (p-value < .05). Sick with thalassemia as a child better before proceeding
