The effect of a stress management program on stress anxiety and satisfaction of relatives of critically ill patients ICU ward Wanon Niwat Hospital Sakon Nakhon Province

Abstract

     This study was quasi-experimental research aimed to study effects of stress management program to stress, anxiety and satisfied for relative of critically ill patients in the ICU, Wanonniwat Hospital, Sakon Nakhon Province. The sample was 30 relative of critically ill patients in the ICU, selected by purposive sampling. Data collected during the month of March to May 2023. The instruments used in data collection consisted of the questionnaires of demographic characteristics, stress, state anxiety and satisfaction. The experimental instrument was the stress management program. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean and standards deviation, compared means scores stress and anxiety with paired t-test.

     The result showed the mean score of stress obtained after the program lower than before (t=11.358, p<0.001), significantly. Such as the mean score of state anxiety obtained after the program was lower than before (t=15.220, p<0.001), significantly. And the satisfaction of the stress management program was the level of high (gif.latex?\bar{x}=3.18, S.D.=0.68).
