Abstract

     Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD) are psychological and neurological symptoms. (neuropsychiatric symptoms), which will show symptoms in the middle and late stages of dementia 60 - 90 percent of dementia patients will have behavioral and emotional problems. at least one problem during the course of the dementia illness Problems have varying degrees of severity. In addition, these behavioral and emotional problems in dementia patients progressively increase with dementia severity. This makes it difficult to care for dementia patients with behavioral and emotional problems. increased burden on families and caregivers may cause a feeling of tension Feeling a burden on the caregiver (caregiver burden), which when the caregiver feels burdened, it will affect the quality of care. and the quality of life of dementia patients and their caregivers. discharge planning and continuation of care in the community and integrating appropriate physical activities for the elderly with dementia with the Reducing Disability in Alzheimer (RDAD) program can be used to develop care for elderly patients with dementia. Family/caregiver Knowledgeable and able to properly care for dementia patients with behavioral and emotional problems. to enable elderly people with dementia to access the health service system and increase the quality of life of the elderly and their caregivers.
