Abstract

     This research was research and development aimed to develop a self-care knowledge program for chronic renal failure patients. The quasi-experimental research and quality development process was used. Data were collected from the self-care behavior assessment form. World Health Organization Quality of Life Toolkit, abbreviated set Period July 2020 - July 2021. Phase 2: The sample group consisted of 22 patients with chronic kidney disease before renal replacement therapy, followed up by laboratory findings. Hemoglobin and glomerular filtration rate, period 2021-2022, data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with frequency, percentage, mean, reference statistics. Before and after comparison using paired t-test.

     The results of the study showed that in Phase 1, 51 participants were mostly female; 74.47% and 75% of group 1 and group 2 were elderly, 70.36% and 75.55% of age over 60 years. The changes in quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure group 1 before and after were significantly different. And the comparison of self-care behavior and quality of life of chronic renal failure patients between group 1 and group 2 was not different. Phase 2: 22 cases, 74.50% female, 39.21% the highest age 56-65 years old. Changes in glomerular filtration rate in stage 3 increased from 9.09% to 13.68%. Stage 4 before and after were equal 50%. Stage 5 decreased from 40.09% to 31%. Hemoglobin was the highest. moderate level 54.54%, followed by mild and moderate pale with the same level 22.72% found that after developing chronic kidney disease, not ranked 1-5 in the first disease
