Abstract

     This study was case study aimed to study the nursing care of pancreatic head CA patients with receiving Whipple's operation.

     Results: A case study of a 73 year old Thai woman with abdominal pain and flatulence was admitted to the hospital on 22 May 2022. After endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), the result showed obstructive jaundice. Patient was received CT of upper abdomen. Distal CBD obstruction was observed. The patient was diagnosed with Primary pancreatic head CA. Doctor performed Whipple's operation on 24 May 2022. During nursing care, the patient had impaired breathing performance then received the intubation. The patient had a risk of bleeding after surgery and postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) which is the most common condition after pancreatic surgery. The patient was treated until safe. During the recovery period, patient received care to prevent wound infection and pain control. The patient was discharged on 5 June 2022, Total of admission for14 days.
