The Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence and Depression of Adolescents, Phayu District, Sisaket Province.

Abstract

     This research was survey research by cross-sectional study. Sample size were 170 students aged 12-15 years old, studying at the lower secondary level. (Secondary school grades 1-3) Areas for conducting school studies in Phayu District Sisaket Province conducted a research during March 2023 with the objective of studying the prevalence of depression among adolescents. Adolescent Emotional Intelligence Levels and to study the relationship between emotional intelligence and depression of adolescents in Payuh District, Sisaket Province.

     The results of the study were 166 people, mostly 96 females and 70 males. Adolescent depression prevalence and Emotional intelligence is lower than normal is thought to be 33%. The life satisfaction aspect of emotional intelligence and female gender were significantly associated with adolescent depression at p-value < 0.05. It can be concluded that adolescents with low life satisfaction aspect of emotional intelligence are dissatisfied with their lives and can cause depression.
