Abstract

     This research was action research with the objective of studying health literacy and changing health behaviors in diabetic patients. and a model for promoting health literacy to change health behavior in diabetic patients. Sample size were 331 diabetic patients. Data analysis comparison of the mean of health literacy on health behavior change among diabetic patients. Before and after using the guideline, using Paired sample t–test statistics, the level of statistical significance was set at 0.05.

     Results: The average of the sample after the experiment was higher than before the experiment in 7 aspects as follows: 1) the effect of access to health information and services; 2) the effect of understanding adequate information and health services; 3) the effect of 4) the effect of health decision-making; 5) the effect of self-health behavior modification; 6) the effect of sharing health information; 7) the effect of food intake and found that the patient has the effect of stress. and effects of smoking and alcohol. The mean after the experiment was lower than before the experiment. Statistically significant at 0.05
