Factors Related to Health Care Behaviors among Caregivers of Children with Asthma

This cross-sectional survey study aimed to study the behaviors and factors related to health care behaviors among caregivers of children with asthma. A simple random sampling was conducted to obtain 138 caregiver of children patients with asthma, aged from 1-15 years, registered in the chronic disease clinic in the Thatphanom crown prince hospital. Data was collected by the questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The results found that 78.98% of participants were female, 39.85% were between the ages of 51-60 years, 65.22% of participants were married, 51.44% had received primary school education, 36.23% were farmers, 28.98% had an average monthly income less than 4000- bath. 96.38% of the participants had a high level of caring behaviors for children asthma patients. Factors related to health care behaviors among caregivers of children with asthma include the perceived risk for asthma complication, the perceived severe for asthma complication and perceived self-efficacy promotion related to health care behaviors among caregivers of children with asthma with statistical significance (p<0.05).
