Nursing care for diabetic patient with hypoglycemia: A case study

Abstract

     This study was case study aimed to studied nursing care for diabetic patient with hypoglycemia. Results of the study: Thai female patient, age 81 years, was admitted to the hospital on 28 April 2023 with significant symptoms and was checked according to doctor appointment. Before hospital admission, before checking, during checking, and after checking, the patient had dizziness and palpitations. In order for patients to receive prompt and appropriate checking and treatment, nurses evaluated screening, taking history, and evaluating health patterns and treated hypoglycemia and send for laboratory testing after receiving treatment. The doctor diagnosed patient with hypoglycemia and has a mineral salt imbalance. Therefore patient was admitted to hospital. Nurse coordinated and transferred patients for hospital admission and followed up during patient admission in the hospital and giving the advice the taking care of patients themselves and changing the behavior of using insulin injections. The patient was safe and had no complications. The patient was discharged on 4 May 2023, including 6 days of hospital admission. Doctor made an appointment to follow up on treatment at the outpatient room and the patient was received continuous care.
