This operational study aimed to development model of self-efficacy promotion to salt and sodium consumption behavior among people with risk of hypertension, regional health 9th. The research procedure
consisted of 3 phases as follows. Phase 1; Study the self-efficacy and salt and sodium consumption behavior situation. The sample group was the risk group for hypertension diseases among 35 to 59 years old totally of 328 participants. Phrase 2; The development model and testing in the model area which the population and purposive sampling were 40 students in risk group for hypertension diseases In phrase 3; evaluate the development model and population’s satisfaction of 40 participants. Data was collected through focus group discussions, observations and interviews. Content analysis was used to analyze qualitative data whereas descriptive and Inferential statistics were used to analyze quantitative one. Paired sample t-test was used to compare means.
The results from the development of self-efficacy promotion model to salt and sodium consumption behavior among people with risk of hypertension, regional health 9th should consist of (1) human resource preparation through capacity building (2) integrated operation through working group (3) capacity building of process facilitators (4) selection of study area (5) Evaluation: After using a self-efficacy promotion model to salt and sodium consumption behavior building program in 40 participants for 7 weeks, it was shown that the mean score of self-efficacy and behavior on salt and sodium consumption significantly (p-value < 0.001) and the satisfaction assessment results of the self-efficacy promotion to salt and sodium consumption behavior activities in the research area model was also at a very high level.
