A Survey of Mold Air in Public Toilets of the Petrol Service Stations : A Case Study of Outskirts of Bangkok and Provinces in the Central and Northeastern Regions

This study was a Cross-Sectional Survey Study research. The aims of this research were to investigate the amount of mold and to evaluate microbial air quality of public toilets in the petrol service stations. The data has been collected from public toilets in the petrol service stations outskirts of Bangkok and provincial 7 stations including Mueang Samut Sakhon District, Samut Sakhon, MueangSuphanburi District, Suphanburi, Sam Phran District, Nakhon Pathom, Thung Khru District, Bangkok, MueangLopburi District, Lopburi, Khong district, NakhonRatchasima and Mueang Khon Kaen, Khon Kaen, during 1 - 5 July 2023. The samples were collected 2 spots (totally 14 samples). The settle plate method using open Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) was used as detection medium. The agar with opened lid was left at the examination room for 1 hour. The results found that the average airborne fungi concentrations in the air in public toilets in the petrol service stations were range 32 - 84 CFU/m3/h. The microbial air quality of public toilets in the petrol service stations were ranging from moderate to good when determined to The Index of Microbial Air Contamination (IMA).
