The Nursing Care for Total Knee Arthroplasty: A case study

Abstract

     This study was case study aimed to studied nursing care for 1 patient with steoarthritis receiving knee replacement surgery, Operating room.

     The results of the study found that a 64-year-old Thai male patient presented with significant symptoms, left knee pain, difficulty walking for 1 month before coming to the hospital. The doctor made an appointment to do surgery. Patient was admitted to the hospital on 18February 2023. The preoperative period, this found a problem with knee pain. Patient and relatives are worried about surgery. During the surgery, there is blood loss and the risk of complications from wearing artificial knee components. Postoperative period, there had a risk of respiratory obstruction low body temperature and had a wound pain. Before surgery, nurse prepared and provided a nursing care and monitor complications during surgery. After surgery, the patient is safe and was rehabilitated and discharged on 23 February 2023, total of hospital admission of 5 days.
