Abstract

     This study was case study aimed to study supportive nursing care for patients with advanced tongue cancer at home. Study of nursing care of one patient with advanced stage tongue cancer after being treated
and discharged from the hospital. Data were collected from observation. Interviews with patients, caregivers, and information that has been referred to family and community nursing practice are analyzed. Determine
the diagnosis and plan appropriate nursing activities for patients.

     Results: Case study of a Thai female patient, age 69 years, with no history of congenital disease. Admitted to the intensive care unit with Tumor Bleeding from the mouth and tracheal tube. Unable to find a clear point where the blood was bleeding, approximately 1,800 cc and continuously flowing out. The patient was in Hypovolemic Shock and received Resuscitation, On Ventilator and later was able to take off Ventilator to breathe through Collar Mask and Room Air respectively. Patients can continue with radiation until it is complete. and returned to receive palliative treatment at home Therefore, he was referred to family and community nursing practice. to provide continuous care the study student made 3 home followup visits, along with 2 follow-up phone calls.
