Abstract

     This research was action research aimed to study and develop the process of caring for bedridden elderly people in the COVID-19 era by elderly care system managers and elderly caregivers together with the Buakham Subdistrict community. The implementation period is between October 2022 - April 2023. Sample groups include: Carer for bedridden elderly Select a specific type Living in Buakham Subdistrict in fiscal year 2022, a total of 19 cases. There are 4 sets of tools used by researchers, including the Barthel ADL Index Assessment Form. knowledge test Skills Assessment and the World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale, abbreviated set, Thai language. Statistics used in the analysis: frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation. and t-test

     The results of the study found that the development of the care process for bedridden elderly people in the COVID-19 era consists of 6 elements: 1. Elderly caregivers have a higher understanding and knowledge in caring for bedridden elderly people in the COVID-19 era after receiving training. Before receiving training Statistically significant at 0.05 2. Elderly caregivers have skills In caring for the bedridden elderly Not less than 80 percent with statistical significance at the 0.05 level. 3. In terms of quality of life of bedridden elderly, it was found that bedridden elderly had an average quality of life score. After receiving care for the process of caring for bedridden elderly people in the COVID-19 era, it was higher than the average before care. With the process of caring for bedridden elderly, it shows that the elderly receive appropriate care. Meets needs and has quality As a result, the quality of life scores of bedridden elderly people in the COVID-19 era are higher than before receiving care, with statistical significance at the 0.05 level.
