Abstract

     This study was case study aimed to provide the nursing care guidelines for acute ischemic stroke patients receiving intravenous thrombolysis This study was comparative study of 2 case studies from the crisis phase, rehabilitation and continuing care phase and discharge planning phase. Data were collected based on the concept of Gordon’s 11 Functional Health Patterns to investigate patients’ problems, formulate nursing diagnoses to plan nursing practice, summarize and evaluate nursing results.

     Results: This study compared 2 acute ischemic stroke patients who received intravenous thrombolysis and were admitted to the Stroke Unit, Khon Kaen Hospital through Stroke Fast Track. Both of them were critically ill patients with comorbidities. The patients were old, considered a high-risk factor. Both of them were admitted to the community hospital and referred to Khon Kaen Hospital. The patients had respiratory failure. A ventilator must be used together with treatment for problems discovered while in treatment.
