Nursing Care for Pregnant Women with Preterm Labor: A Case Study of Two Patients

This study was case study aimed to study examine the nursing care provided to pregnant women experiencing preterm labor, comparing two case studies. The cases involve two patients who received treatment at the maternity ward of the Si Chomphu Hospital in KhonKaen province. Data collection spans from April 2022 to May 2022, gathered from patient records, observations, interviews with patients and their families, and analysis using Gordon's functional health patterns and the nursing process.
Study Results : In the first case study, it was not possible to inhibit preterm labor due to significant cervical dilation and delayed hospital admission. The patient received standard labor care and delivered safely. Conversely, the second case study successfully prevented uterine contractions, allowing the pregnancy to progress to full term, completing 37 weeks.
