Health promotion in nursing and rehabilitation of patients with high blood pressure and obesity

Abstract

     This study was case study aimed to study health promotion in nursing and rehabilitation of patients with high blood pressure and obesity. Female patient, age 51 years, came for examination room on 18 August 2023 with significant symptoms, receiving medication for high blood pressure according to appointment, dizziness and insomnia. The blood pressure of patient was 186/98 mmHg.
     Results: After discharge, the patient transferred to the Health Promotion and Rehabilitation Unit by follow-up and health promotion and rehabilitation of patients for of 3 months. This found that the service recipients had inappropriate health behaviors in terms of eating and lack of exercise which is a risk of cardiovascular and brain disease. This is due to lack of awareness of taking care of patient with high blood pressure, abdominal obesity and eating behavior, Improper exercise due to lack of knowledge about nutrition and blood pressure lowering foods and exercise including anxiety of patients and relatives. Patient and relative received individual counseling and participate in health behavior adjustments and solution for behavior changing 3 อ. 2 ส. and having family for good supporters. After receiving the service, the nutrition and exercise knowledge of patient increased. The behavior of patient can be changed by the principles of 3 อ. 2 ส. and Patient's child is an important supporter. As a result, the patient's blood pressure is the normal range. The patient's waist circumference decreased of 5 centimeters. The patient's body weight decreased of 5 percent of the original body weight.
