Mixed method design: Factors Affecting Quality of Life of the Hypertension Patients a Case Study of the Public Health Office, Renu Nakhon District

Abstract

      The research used a sequential explanatory mixed methods design that aimed to study factors affecting quality of life of the hypertension patients a case study of the Public Health Office, Renu Nakhon district. Research data was collected from 9 November 2023 to 9 February 2024. The quantitative research sample consisted of patients with high blood pressure in the responsibility area of 10 Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospitals in Renu Nakhon district, a total of 109 patients. Research instruments included personal information questionnaires, social support scale, stress questionnaire. The qualitative research sample consisted of 6 people.The research instrument was a semi-structured in-depth interview form. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. and multiple regression analysis. Qualitative data analyzed by using content analysis.
     Research results: quantitative research results found that self-efficacy variables (B=.393, p-value=.000), social support variables (B=.196, p-value=.000), and stress variables (B=.110, p-value= .049) combined to predict the quality of life of hypertensive patients. Together they were able to predict quality of life at 48.3 percent (R2 = .438). As for the qualitative research results, it was found that perception of self -efficacy, social support, and stress affected the perception of good quality of life in patients with high blood pressure.
