Factors related to the sleep quality of elderly individuals in Pho Yai Sub District, Warinchamrab District, Ubon Ratchathani Province

This research aimed to investigate the quality of sleep and its related factors among elderly individuals in Pho Yai Subdistrict, Warin Chamrab District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, Thailand, with a sample size of 173 participants selected using proportionated stratified random sampling. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviations, and inferential statistics. Chi-square test was employed for statistical inference, while Fishers’ exact test was used when conditions were not met.
The result revealed that 34.1% of the sample had poor sleep quality, which correlated significantly with chronic diseases, family history of mental illness, physical health, mental well-being, bedtime, and hours of sleep per night (p < 0.05).
